Ecuador and El Salvador hold Internet Governance Forums

The Internet Governance Forum in Riad is approaching and in Latin America and the Caribbean countries are preparing themselves by discussing the most relevant issues in their environments.

Between September 19 and 20, the Internet Governance Forum of El Salvador took place in the city of San Salvador, where the state of Internet governance, the impact of artificial intelligence, the metaverse, emerging technologies immersed in the quantification of risk assets and even heavy metal as a tool for learning about artificial intelligence were discussed. Asociación Conexión supports the El Salvador Internet Governance Forum as a neutral Secretariat, supported by the multi-stakeholder Organizing Committee of the IGF SV which is integrated, in addition to the Secretariat, by the SVNet Association, ISOC El Salvador Chapter and the Salvadoran Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies (CASATIC). On the other hand, on September 26, the Ecuadorian Internet Governance Forum was held at the Film Auditorium of the ULEAM Language Institute in the city of Manta under the theme “Let’s talk about the future”. See more at https://igfecuador.ec/ https://twitter.com/igfecuador.

In the case of the IGF Ecuador, this year it was held in conjunction with the Youth IGF Ecuador, as a strategy to better meet the requirements of young people in the country.

LACIGF celebrates the realization of these national forums as an effort to strengthen Internet governance in the region, initiatives such as those of Ecuador and El Salvador enrich with their contributions the discussion on these issues in the region.
